"This journey took place on 31st May, which was a day the railways were on strike. Traffic at Gatwick airport was gridlocked - I mean seriously manic. It took nearly half an hour to get from the North terminal to the South terminal roundabout. Wherever you looked cars were either at a standstill or barely moving. The journey was to Hammersmith bus station and traffic conditions all the way were manic. At every intermediate point on the journey where we tracked progress we were not going to make our connection, which would have meant an overnight hotel stay plus added travel expense the following day. Our driver was brilliant, remaining calm throughout despite the fact he was sensing the stress from behind, albeit we were endeavoring to remain calm. In the event we got to within half a mile of the bus station and going nowhere with only minutes to go before the coach departed. We opted to get out and run at that point and literally got to the coach as it was about to leave at 5 minutes later than schedule. So whilst technically a failure to get us to our destination, we would never have made it without our driver's skill and knowledge of the roads. Recommend wholeheartedly! Thank you."
